Case Study: Paris City Guide. Illustrations and Web Design for Tourism

In this project, the task for our team was to create a web design concept of a bright online resource with a narrow focus that would work effectively as both the independent source of information and as a part of an extended educational content project devoted to different destinations around the world. The project was accomplished by tubik designers Yaroslava Yatsuba, Vladyslav Taran, and Ladamira Kunitsa.

The general stylistic approach aimed at giving the resource a unique artistic look to make it stand out in the tightly competitive sphere of tourism and urbanism resources. So, a set of original digital illustrations was created to achieve that objective. The artwork echoes magazine and editorial illustration techniques and applies various compositions to make the illustrations atmospheric and emotional. The illustration set features a couple who have a city trip to Paris and share some moments of that with the reader.

The next stage was to transform the bunch of illustrations and text content into a stylish, informative, and emotional website with a friendly look and intuitive navigation. The style of the web pages and typographic approach echoes the traditions of magazine design, while some visual effects add to the resource’s trendy and catchy aesthetic details. Another essential aspect to consider was the mobile adaptation so that the guide would keep its attractiveness and could be easily used from a smartphone and on the go.
