Branding Business Case Study Illustration

Case Study: 1260. Wine Brand Packaging Design with Medieval Vibes

Check the original packaging design created for a wine brand, employing custom illustrations inspired by the Medieval art style and 3D models of bottles.

With this graphic design project, we invite you to enjoy the vibes of wine culture. Welcome to check a brief case study on the packaging design with custom illustrations inspired by the Medieval art style we created for the wine brand. What made this project special was that we also created custom 3D models of bottles from scratch.

The project was accomplished by tubik designers Yaroslava Yatsuba and Vlad Radionov.

The design process followed several creative stages:

  • searching for the general visual style approach that would share the vibe of old times
  • creating a consistent set of illustrations and graphic elements that would fit various design goals
  • creating custom realistic 3D images for bottles flexible for various presentation goals
  • developing the packaging design system that would help the brand stand out and strengthen brand awareness, recognizability, and memorability

The color palette is vibrant and trendy, with some uncommon eye-pleasing and attractive color combinations. The central visual element that sets the style and foundation for the design’s originality is the set of illustrations echoing the style and plots of medieval art and stories. The illustrations mix realistic human-like characters with fantastic creatures and symbolic details, thus unveiling a piece of art that attracts attention and engages customers to look closer.

The typographic approach sticks to the idea with an old-style decorative font, which strengthens the visual effect of the illustrations. Take a glance at how it works.

To make the visuals adaptable for a wide range of marketing and presentation goals, for this project, the original 3D models of the bottles were created, elegant and realistic, with graphic details inscribed on the bottle and the cap.
